If you intend on keeping a long term social site, do NOT rely on Facebook. I had a Facebook account for a few years. Suddenly, I received blocks on my Facebook comments. I was not allowed to comment on my Facebook. This occurred many times. Facebook stated it only allowed a specific number of comments to me made. It had no limits. I was not even on Facebook on that weekend; when my Facebook account was disabled.
I never violated any rules, also.
Facebook has over 2.6 billion subscribers. They can do anything the desire.
It is only a matter of reason that anyone who has a social website may do whatever they desire at their own website; including banning people from the website without cause or reason.
Be very carefull when considering a website to become a member in.
In this case, Facebook wanted my private information such as a copy of my Driver's license to reinstate my Pages. I do not mind doing that for a purpose; but, when I am banned for no reason, I do not know of any logical reason to go back; or, supply my personal data. I will not return to Facebook.
I have many very good friends I am leaving behind; but, I did tell them to go to my other social network. They never did.
It has been analyzed that disabled Facebook accounts are used; by hackers, for purposes of identity theft. My account was monitored and analyzed fully. The owners of Facebook may or may not know of these procedures; but, they do keep disabled accounts active for long periods of time.
